EKSKURSIOONI KIRJELDUS
Soome on riik, mis on tuntud oma arenenud tehnoloogia ja kõrge elukvaliteedi poolest. Soome helilooja Sibellius on ülemaailmselt tuntud, nagu ka legendaarne arhitekt Eliel Saarinen ja tema poeg Eero Saarinen, kes ehitas St Louis'i linnakaare ja mitu lennujaama USAs.
Helsingi on Soome pealinn, mis on kuulus 20. sajandi alguse põhjamaise noorsoo/modernistliku arhitektuuri poolest. Olles enam kui sada aastat Vene impeeriumi osa, on Helsingi multireligioosne linn, mille kesklinnas on kaks domineerivat hoonet - luteri ja õigeusu katedraalid.
A private vehicle your guide will take you around the city showing the most charming parts such as the embassy quarter, Rock Church, Sibellius monument and more. During the bus part of the shore excursion you will visit Seurasaari open air museum and see the wooden Finnish countryside homes (from outside). Your excursion will be continued on foot. The city center is quite compact, so in 2 hours you will see most of it. You will visit both main cathedrals, Helsinki Cathedral and Uspenski Cathedral, and see the main railway station which is a unique piece of architecture.
Next we will walk the main street of Helsinki and visit Senate Square. You will learn how Helsinki was founded on the oldest square of the city center – Kauppatori – the Market Square. We’ll walk the Espalnade – the main boulevard of the city center and favorite place for local people to come for an evening walk.
Your guide will advise you about places to visit on your own such as restaurants, museums, and interesting sites, while showing you the location where you’ll meet the transfer vehicle to get back to the port.
