A walk to the main square will take you 5 minutes. During the walking excursion of Riga’s Old Town you will see Riga Cathedral founded in the 13th century, knight’s castle, nowadays being the presidential palace, the Latvian Parliament building, several medieval churches, one of them is St Peter’s Church with an outstanding viewing platform on top of the tallest spire in the city. In one of the city corners you’ll discover the powder tower and part of medieval town wall. We will not forget Roland – the patron saint of the city and magnificent house of the Blackhead Guild.
You will walk the crooked streets of old Riga to the Freedom Monument, and see the moat and park belt of Old Town.
We will walk the districts of stupendous Art Nouveau buildings from the early 20th century, and admire the inventive spirit of Riga architects.
The shore excursion will continue with a boat ride together with the guide, as the best way to see Riga majestic panorama is the view from the water. You will see Riga Castle, the new National library, TV tower, and more.
The shore excursion will end in Old Town where you have free time for discoveries on your own, visiting museums, lunch, or souvenir shopping.
