TOUR DESCRIPTION

Our Ultimate Stockholm shore excursion is a unique chance to extend the impression of the city with an inside visit to one of the famous museums – Vasa Museum or Drottningholm Palace! You choose a venue while ordering the tour and we will make all the necessary arrangements.

On the bus part of the tour we will drive around the city center stopping by the Parliament building, Town Hall and the best viewing point in the city, to see how different districts of Stockholm really are.

On the walking tour we will cover all the main highlights of Stockholm. Your guide will take you around Old Town (Gamla Stan), you will see St. Nicholas Cathedral, King’s Palace and the guards of the palace. You will see the Old and New Parliament buildings, Stockholm Concert Hall where the famous Nobel prize is awarded, Knight’s Island (Riddarholmen) and the Cathedral – burial place of most noble families and Kings of Sweden.

The best view of the city is from the water. And will see it having a quarter hour boat ride along the most impressive street of Stockholm – Strand. We’ll also see the Old Town from the boat and then the ride will finish on Museum Island.

After the inside visit you have free time that can be used for lunch, or visiting other museums which are literally around the corner – Junibaken - children’s museum, Nordic Museum, Skansen – open air museum or Absolut vodka museum.

A: Vasa Museum - one of Stockholm’s main attraction, which houses a part of Swedish marine history. The Vasa Museum is a real warship resembling a famous “Flying Dutchman”, world known after “Pirates of the Caribbeans.” This ship from the 17th century, which you may see in detail inspired the look of the vessel, filmed 400 years later and got international fame.

B: Drottningholm Castle is home to the Royal Swedish family and was the first Swedish cultural monument listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle is situated on an island with a beautiful park surrounding it, where you will enjoy nature and the glamour of the Royal Court.
